White Buffalo Imprints

The name White Buffalo Imprints is coined after a nickname I received upon nearing the completion of a group tour I did of Europe. Clearly perplexed by the nickname "white buffalo" I was given the following explanation. Like a white buffalo you are rare to find, you carry yourself with elegance and confidence, you are unique and brave and bring beauty to this world. I choose to carry this nickname into my brand White Buffalo Imprints because with each piece I design I hope to imprint these same principles of elegance, beauty, and uniqueness in my work.

Stilled Expressions

Stilled Expressions is my first collection inspired by Scandinavian design and stylized figure drawings. Using a continuous line approach to my art, I aimed to create a collection that felt minimal, stylized, and abstract. Throughout the collection, you will see the use of muted colors aimed at creating a tranquil aesthetic and harmony. Focusing on human silhouettes and abstract shapes I wanted to highlight form through simplicity and a minimal color palette. Shaped through the interplay of shapes, inverted colors, and abstracted form Stilled Expressions aims at showcasing the beauty found within the human form and abstract composition.

Art is what I call a journey. It's the batting cage to which I take my emotions, and all the while a sanctuary I visit at the end of a long day. I’d like to say that creating is a one, two, three step process, but experience has taught me that expression evolves at its own pace and allowing it to unfold naturally is part of the fun. Graduating from high school I choose to pursue a degree in Interior Design as I felt it would be a good way to utilize my passion in art while giving it a good foundation to grow from. Through this degree, I was able to explore a range of design as I dipped my toes into the realm of both commercial and residential interior design, furniture design, and graphic design. Through this process, I was able to realize that I loved the freedom of expression given more on the graphic design/art route than the structured one found in interior design. Back at square one, I knew I wanted to utilize my artistic ability in some way but the new question become how? This is when the idea for jewelry gave birth. Given the freedom to create whatever I desired, I designed my own range of polymer clay earrings and incorporated my art through the personalized earring backings each one comes with.
